    • And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~Anais Nin

    • No-bake, fun-filled, stress-free afternoon-with-kids starter pack: A story book that will take their imagination places, and some leftover sugar cookies from last weekend’s baby shower. Warning: There will be talking animals and lots of sugar so expect a lot of jumping and twirling and silliness. Also a lot of noise (sorry neighbours!) You might also have to change the sheets later but, what can I say, totally worth it! #lifewithtwins #loladutch
Thank you @yumscreationsph as always💕
    • The mountaintop experience is always amazing, but it is in the trek that we learn what we’re truly capable of, and in the valleys that we actually grow. 🏞 .
.
So here’s your Monday reminder— whether you’re pushing through an upward slope that seems to not end, or trekking through a rough terrain and you can’t see what’s ahead, you just have to keep going! Deep breaths, stop and rest when you need, pull yourself up and do it all again. One foot at a time, one hill, one camp, one summit.
.
There will be hesitations, there will be doubts. There will be parts where you feel like giving up, and moments when you want to drop everything and quit. Keep moving anyway.
.
You’ll reach the peak soon, but while you’re in the valley, look up, enjoy the view, worship, live.

    • “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” This African proverb has never been more true in my life til late. Oh the pressure to take the fastest way to a destination as if you lose time and miss opportunities if you don’t.

I had the impression that getting married would make me accomplish a lot more things, and fast. Two heads and two sets of hands are better than one, after all. And while this is true in some cases—having a guy around does come a little handy sometimes 😆—David and I also quickly realised that having another person in the journey slows things down a notch. (And then kids enter the picture and suddenly any notion of “fast” is out the window, but, let’s talk about how getting anywhere with kids is a major production another time, shall we?) .

And so we learn. To navigate through the noise, the pressure of doing things instantly. To manage people’s expectations of needing to move faster, to not let them get into our heads. To take our time, to not feel guilt when we do. To sit still in coffee shops and resist the urge of having our drinks to go. To take the scenic route, stop for pictures, tell another story, conquer another mountain, pour another cup. Slowly and surely.

It’s an art to master, without a doubt. But when “together” becomes second nature, you know there’s no way you’d rather go. Hand-in-hand you walk, mastering each other’s strides. You’ll get there anyway, wherever that is, in God’s sweet time. But together, there’s no need to rush.
    • In the hallway, sharing stories and singing songs with classmates while waiting for your next class.

In the hallway, waiting for the result of an important exam, just before you find out that you passed.

In the hallway, applying for a job, waiting for an interview, wondering if this is the one.

In the hallway, taking photographs in your wedding dress, outside of your bridal suite, just before you walk down the isle to the love of your life.

In the hallway, waiting to see the sonologist, just before you confirm that you’re pregnant.

In the hallway, crying and praying with your husband before an emergency c-section, knowing that the next time you see each other you’ll be someone’s mom and dad.

In the hallway, peeking into the nursery room and catching a glimpse of your baby for the first time.

In the hallway—waiting for a flight, for your turn, for a visa, for an answered prayer, for someone, for the thing that ends up changing your life forever.

Some of the best memories and defining moments happen in the hallway. Never take the wait for granted. Praise Him right there. 💕 .
